Elvis Kimisha, Project Founder and Project Coordinator

ElvisElvis Kimisha is a native of Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania. After finishing secondary school he worked in a cookie and cracker factory, then enrolled in the renowned BAGAMOYO COLLEGE OF ART in Bagamoyo, Tanzania. Elvis graduated from the Collge of Art in 2004 with a degree in fine arts, specializing in wood carving and clay sculpture. During art school Elvis lived next door to a shelter for orphans and street children. In 2002 he founded the House of Peace of Love Project, as a means of combatting the orphans and street children's epidemic in Tanzania. Elvis currently resides in Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania, where he works part-time as an arts teacher, makes sculpture on commission and administers the daily tasks of the HPLP.
